You can preorder them both now for $40, and get instant alpha access.
Hopefully NS2 will be good...

Both for $40? Bugger. Preordered NS AGES ago. The special edition too, which is what appears to be in the pack. So basically, if you were planning on getting NS2, just preorder this - same price as the special edition but with an extra game.
Edit: Scratch that

Yeah, if you pre-ordered either, you can put in the key to get the other free _________________

I have ordered this. I'm hoping NS2 will be as good as the original, if so, then it's gonna blow OUR MINDS.
There's just over a day left to order, it comes out at about £25. |

Love the trailer that says it's coming out in fall 2009.
It says if you get the 'special' version you can play the alpha, and the beta with the other one. I guess neither is out yet?
I'd definately be all over this if it was as good as the original. Although the problem with the original is most people wern't good enough to play it, so it never became really popular |

NS2? No, it was originally a HL1 mod, then they considered porting it to source but gave up, now they have their own custom engine for it. _________________ Meepo - Q6600, 2GB 5300 Ballistix, 8800 G92 GTS 512MB, 680i EVGA - 14700 3DMark 06 score

Apparantly the alpha is buggy as f**k. Ofc, this is actually ALPHA - as they state, most companies usually wouldn't let a game in this state anywhere near any players. _________________ Intel i5 750 @ 3.8ghz (21x180mhz). 4 GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3. ATI Radeon 5870. Asus P7P55D-LE. 30" HP LP3065.

They've released it so we know it's not dead. Also, I preordered (mostly as I loved the first so much) this about a year ago so presumably they want to prove to all the faithful that they're actually up to something.
Having played it I can confirm it's buggy as f**k. The graphics detail even on the "awful" setting still rapes my machine. The ducting and pipes on the walls are all 3d-mark level detailed :S |
