Event Week 8 - L/N/028

Hey all. This is discsussion thread for the next event L/N/028. Anyone not familiar with L/N/028 not to worry, it should be good!

Date: End of Week 8 (7th, 8th March)
Start: Start arriving at about 11am Sat
Finish: Sunday 7pm
Rooms: Langwith College L/N/028
Internet: Unlimited and available

Pizzas will be as per usual. I think the event fee is £5 but I need to triple check with the treasurer. We have some SteelSeries QCK Mousepads coming, hopefully they will be here in time for the event!

I'm sure slugs will start a tournament thread, but I think I heard somewhere the plan was for a TF2 tournie. Also after discussion with facilities manager there is to be no sleeping whatsoever in L/N/028 due to health and safety issues. However, the rooms behind are not in use at that time and whatever activities private individuals partake in is up to them Wink

.

Also, we will be having the AGM probably on Saturday evening, I hope everyone makes their intention to run clear beforehand if possible.

Finally, this is somewhat of a trial event, next year we will be doing a big one in Physics with lots of different Unis hopefully, but for the time being as a personal note from me I would just ask for your cooperation and patience as things change.

I'm pretty sure im going for event co-ordinator aswell just little nervous about this so called speech

what time will people be there from? I have a squash tourny starting at 11 so would like to set up before so can come straight after. ANy chance of putting in a pre order of pizza too?

i and others committee will be there from the latest 9am, feel free to come earlier and bring a pc then go elsewhere.
see carnage about preordering pizza
anyone arriving stupidly earlier than 11am will be sat around doing nothing or will be roped into moving tables/chairs or doing whatever the committee tell you to do Smile

While we're at events from 9/10/11, we're generally setting up in that time, so if you come before the stated opening time, there is a chance you will be told to sit outside until we're done. It's happened in the past because people were in the way/taking the piss by setting up and starting to play as we're laying the infastructure

This event the committee will be expected to have a very early start and will if any member is silly enough to turn up before the event starts they'll become helpers Very Happy

I think 9am is really the _latest_ committee can show up. It's likely to take a long time to setup this one!

Lol it is about 20 second walk from derwent a block. How have you not been to L/N/028, it is one of the most used lecture theatres along with P/X/001 and V/045!
